Green morocco, dishes decorated with branches in green and brown tones and flowers in purple tones with golden mosaic buttons in a frame of blue and brown morocco fillets, spine with ribs titled in gold, tobacco morocco counterplate decorated with two green morocco fillets, one adorned at the spandrels with red flowers and their intertwined foliage contoured in gold, all contoured in gold, decorated green silk endpapers, marbled paper counterguards, gold edges, preserved cover and spine, shirt with flaps and case with matching green morocco and marbled paper (Marius Michel). Descamps-Scrive copy, one of the few on China not put on the market. Original edition of this modern illustrated book decorated with 20 original etchings by Louis Legrand in double condition, including the cover and 16 in spot colours, and drawings in the text. End-of-volume edition prospectus (4 pp.) mounted on tabs with a "black engraving to be printed in colour in register". Beautiful copy in a splendid binding signed by Marius Michel.
