GAULLE Charles de (1890-1970)
AUTOGRAPHIC MANUSCRIT, [1926], and P.A.S. "C.G.", 17.X.1960; 1 page in-4, and half page in-8 on his letterhead Le général de Gaulle. "Last handwritten page of Le Prestige, a lecture given at the École de Guerre in 1926 that became a chapter of Le Fil de l'Épée" [1932], explains the 1960 note. The 1926 manuscript is overloaded with erasures and corrections: "Like those plants in the waters whose moving growth François de Curel evoked and which strive towards the surface where the light calls them to blossom, so the French army, hesitating in the darkness, is going to seek, by rising above itself, the warmth and the clarity of prestige. Hard work, but for sure, it will taste the reward, since there must be a sun!" (Small traces of scotch)
