WILDE Oscar (1854 - 1900)
L.A.S. "Oscar Wilde," Chelsea, to "My dear Phil"; 4 pages in-8 addressed to him (1st page a little browned); in English. About an article on Irish crafts. He would be pleased to have an article on decorative art in Ireland, illustrated by needlework done in Clare Street by the Baroness with the amazing name, carved wood made in the South, and a small lace. The article should include everything made in Ireland, except for Mrs. Hart's schools, for which he already has an article. He asks that photographs be taken, especially of the embroidery and lace (but no drawings). The expenses will be covered by the publisher Cassell and Co. "If the designs are good, the article should be attractive"...
