"Guillaume Apollinaire," [Paris] September 12, 1917, to Jean-Émile LABOUREUR in Nantes; 2 pages in-8, envelope with ink stamp Ministry of War, General Directorate of Relations with the Press. "I am aware of your military avatars. Before the war is over you will be Japanese that is the grace I wish you. I hope to meet you on your next visit to Paris. I congratulate you on the beautiful drawings with which you have adorned the book of BILLY [La Malabée] with which I had the pleasure of putting you in touch. He will write to Captain Johnson. "Enclosed is a check which I have not been touched and which must be out of date. I leave it to you to tear it up"... Attached is this check for 3 francs, on the Société Générale, signed by Laboureur to Guillaume Apollinaire dated November 13, 1916 (torn and pasted).
