SERRE-BIJOUX in the form of sarcophagus is veneered with ebony with a rich ornamentation of bronzes. It rests on four feet in the form of winged cherubs in bronze, followed by elongated figures and ending with a palmette, all in the round, positioned at the four corners. The top is decorated with a rich bronze medallion with a scene of dancing couples surrounded by the trumpets of fame. The lock is in the form of a door surmounted by a shield. Napoleon III period. Height : 19,5 cm - Width : 38 cm Depth : 27,5 cm PROVENANCE This box belonged to Jean de Polignac (1888 - 1943) and his wife Marie-Blanche (1897 - 1958) daughter of Jeanne Lanvin.
