VASE MOUNTED in porcelain of China with incised decoration under the cover of flowers of lotus and the neck decorated with a frieze of ruyi surmounted by leaves of banana trees. The frame is gilt bronze decorated on the base and handles of reeds. Enameled turquoise blue, mounted in chased bronze and gilt. Louis XV period, circa 1750. Height : 28 cm - Diameter : 16 cm Mounted porcelains are the prerogative of mercer merchants. Their art is mainly that of transformation, they adapt the products they import, inventing new ways to enhance them to please their customers and adapting exoticism to the French fashion. The regulations gave them the right to sell the most diverse objects and authorized them to have several trades work, they were in fact the only ones able to coordinate the work of various trades and in fact to make a marvelous profit from it.
