DENIS GENTY (MAÎTRE EN 1754)
Curved chest of drawers opening to two rows of drawers in marquetry of amaranth wood and satinwood decorated with polychrome flowers in a frame of green tinted wood decorated with Greeks at the corners. The sides are inlaid with bouquets of flowers. Stamped by Denis Genty and Jurande. Chutes and sabots in gilt bronze. Grey St Anne-belge marble top. 18th century. Height : 86 cm - Width : 96 cm Depth : 56 cm (Restorations of use) Denis Genty, received master in 1754 installed rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, he exercised very quickly after his master's degree the trade of furniture of cabinet making 9, rue de l'Échelle St Honoré "à la descente des Tuileries". In 1756 he is quoted as "being one of the most important of this profession". He went bankrupt in 1762 due to disproportionate expenses, and his business was taken over by Louis Moreau under the sign "à la petite boule blanche".
