RACINE Jean (1639-1699)
Works Paris, Claude Barbin, 1676. 2 volumes in-12 (165 x 100 mm), [8]-364, [12]-324-[3, Privilege] pp, 11 engravings off-text (including 2 frontispieces). Full jansenist midnight blue morocco, spine ribbed, titled, tomé and dated in gold, edges gilt, large inner gilt lace, marbled paper endpapers (E. & A. Maylander). I) and pagination errors in vol. II. This very valuable edition is illustrated with 2 frontispieces and 9 figures engraved by François Chauveau. A fine copy. (Corners and spines slightly dulled). REFERENCE: Guibert, pp. 132-135
