BERLIOZ Hector (1803-1869)
L.A.S. "H. Berlioz", [19 ? August 1859], to his friend Toussaint BENNET, at the Salle Beethoven, Paris; 2 1/2 pages in-12, address. "We are rehearsing in Carlsruhe on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25, if you leave next Tuesday it would be better for you and for Lefort to come to Carlsruhe on Wednesday morning, you would find us rehearsing in the Salle du Museum near the hotel of the hereditary prince. If you arrive too late to rehearse, at least you would stay in Carlsruhe for the next day's rehearsal, and that would save you a trip from Baden to Carlsruhe. In any case I have reserved a room for Lefort at the Hotel de Darmstadt as we agreed... [This refers to the August 29 concert in Baden-Baden, where Pauline Viardot and Jules Lefort will sing excerpts from Les Troyens]. Two letters by Gaston BATY (1934, 1948) and a letter by Jean DARCANTE (1948) to Lucienne Favre are attached.
