"My dear Julie I receive these two letters from Georges, you will see that Lucien was very well disposed to receive Georges, only Georges had understood that Lucien was not anxious to receive him in Epping. - I am of the opinion not to tell Lucien about what Georges was afraid of, so as not to aggravate the matter. I am very glad that it is going well and that the two brothers are getting on; only we must not push the matter... Poor George sees things in a black light, and I suspected as much. - If you write to them, don't breathe a word about it, I wanted you to know about it, and that between us. [...] I cannot go to Éragny on Friday - I have too much to do here"...
