L.A.S. "C. Pissarro", Paris 22 August 1890, to his "dear Du Ballen", Hotel Dieudonné in London; 1 page in-8, envelope. "A good friend of mine Gustave Kahn, a poet of great talent, wishing to spend some time in London accompanied by his wife, asked me if I did not know someone who could help him get by in the big city. I thought of you, who are a Londoner and a Parisian, and who are very well acquainted with English things; I also thought of the old comrade who was so helpful... [Also a knowledgeable art lover, Gustave KAHN (1859-1936) was a writer and host of literary journals, who began in the ranks of the Symbolists and was the inventor of free verse].
