MIRÓ JOAN (1893-1983).
L.A.S. "Miró", Barcelona 22 December 1952, to dancer Tamara TOUMANOVA; 2 pages ¾ in-4 on his letterhead. Beautiful letter recalling their collaboration on Massine's ballet Jeux d'enfants (music by Bizet, Ballets Russes de Monte-Carlo, 1932). Miró, his wife and Dolores are delighted at the thought that Tamara might come to Barcelona, and he has a request to make to the dancer: "You know how proud I am to have staged Jeux d'enfants with you, at the beginning of your glorious career, and how much the rhythm and music have influenced my work since then. I am preparing a large exhibition of my recent work for this summer in Paris. On this occasion, a book would be published, in several languages at the same time, on my work. This book would be published in a large edition", by MAEGHT, who is "enthusiastic about the idea that I had suggested to him of my intention to ask you for a text for this work [...] It is not a question of making literature, but simply of speaking about our work and our collaboration, which, in spite of being remote remains very alive and very of today"...
