He asks him to send to Mme DALTON (Delacroix's mistress), at the Hôtel Voltaire, "the little note you promised her in which you would mention how you acquired the little painting in question, from whom and in front of what people. She is very keen to have it and asks me to tell you that she will be very grateful to you for this kindness, as she is already for the step you kindly took the other day"...

He told me that he had no one and is very much at ease with what I proposed to him on your behalf. It remains for you to go and see him to settle with him in which of the two reviews [Revue des Deux Mondes or Revue de Paris] he will have you do your work"...
