An exhibition of selected works by Othon Friesz (from 1908 to 1932), is described by René Jean, in "Comoedia" (6 May), as an "apotheosis". And he describes it simply: "Here, the female flesh shines under the sky on the edge of a lake whose calm waters are adorned with subtle reflections. The dazzling firmness of the nude melts into Nature, participating in its grandeur, adding to its melancholic power. Elsewhere, in the Emir's Garden, houris grouped under palm trees. The summer heat weighs on the foliage. In this shady corner where water gossips in the pools, everything is order and beauty, luxury, calm and pleasure."
