MOULIN Jean (1889-1943) préfet, héros de la Résistance
L.A.S. "Jean", Saint-Andiol 12 October [1942], to his mother Mme AntoineÉmilie MOULIN and his sister Laure MOULIN, in Montpellier; 1 page in-12 in pencil, address on the back. Rare family letter, when Moulin organized the Resistance in Provence. "Dear Mom, dear Laure, yesterday I was able to prepare the bags of potatoes for the Dufour family. First of all, I had to mend two of them, because they all had more or less holes in them. Then I packed, sewed, tied up, put on the labels and left the two bags with Yvonne who will take care of the shipment on Thursday. I took the rest of the potatoes upstairs into the hallway because some big rats had started to do some damage. Tell Madame Dufour that the potatoes are not beautiful (small and they are sprouting). But they are all the same. Dédé is here right now. She has just finished the second draft of her cram. Unfortunately the first time she had done a good math composition. The second time, she couldn't do her problem! Zézette is also here with a bad cold and Yvonne has every intention of keeping her because the food hasn't improved. Kisses. Jean"
