March 19, 1889, to a colonel friend, recommending the young Henry MARTEAU (of Reims), "a remarkable artist" who "ardently desires to be heard at the Elysée Palace" . August 5, 1889, to Major Chamoin, at the Élysée Palace, to give Mrs. Massenet the benefit of the invitation to the next day's performance at the Opera [Le Cid, at a gala in honor of the Shah of Persia]: "I will go on stage in the dressing room of my directors during the performance of my work"... "Brumaire an 99" [November 21, 1891], to Jules DANBÉ, conductor of the Opéra-Comique. "Thank you for No. 2 of the program. Thank you for thinking of me. See you tonight probably, but what a time to go out!", with a drawing of driving rain... May 13, 1892, to the President of the Republic [Sadi CARNOT], as President of the Committee for the Erection of a Monument to Henry LITOLFF, asking to support their initiative of a subscription, highlighting his musical and patriotic qualities of the musician ... January 29, 1895, recommendation of Narcisse BRUMENT, "whose remarkable qualities as a conductor I have been able to appreciate, especially in the splendid musical festivals given by the Philharmonic Society in Amiens, under his direction.
