Antonio Seguí Artist and collector Antonio Segui was born in 1934 in Cordoba, Argentina. Living and working in France since 1963 and in Cordoba, he is considered one of the most important artists from Latin America in the world. Often associated with the Figuration Narrative movement, he describes himself as an independent artist. He arrived in France in 1951 to study painting and sculpture, then travelled to Spain and had his first solo exhibition in Argentina in 1957. His work was revealed in Europe on the occasion of the 3rd Paris Biennial in 1963, followed by exhibitions in the world's greatest museums and a retrospective exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in Paris in 2005. Against a background of urban agitation, he brings to life a colourful and graphic world that seems to emerge from the world of comics.
