Mainly known for having designed the clocks of the French railway stations and then for having worked for the French Navy, he is at the origin of several patents, making watchmaking more precise and accessible. Made a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur in the middle of the 19th century, he is one of the most seasoned and popular French watchmakers of his time.
