CENDRARS Blaise (1887-1961)
Signed autograph correspondence addressed to Armand GODOY. 1950-1951, 36 autograph letters or cards signed in ink.
Warm and friendly correspondence from Blaise Cendrars addressed to the symbolist poet of Cuban origin Armand Godoy (1880-1964) whom he calls "his dear brother". 36 signed autograph letters or cards, 4 letters written by his wife Raymone, a typed text by J. Jenloz on Cendrars and 2 original photographs representing him, some envelopes preserved. "Big brother, cure your rheumatism, it's poison!" ... "The strikes are over, the outstanding mail has been distributed. Raymone is waiting for the chocolates that didn't arrive. I guess the postmen threw them in the garbage like the postmen threw thousands of Christmas parcels in the garbage and tore hundreds of thousands of New Year's greetings to pieces! Here's the latest news from the land of Saint Louis. The infidels couldn't have done better". On the letter of December 31, 1950, there is a drawing by Raymone and Cendrars, signed by both of them. On a photograph representing Cendrars in the presence of a donkey, he dedicates the photograph: "To my big brother Armand Godoy. Blaise Cendrars and his little brother the donkey. Villefranche 13 February 1950".
