Founded in Clermont-Ferrand in 1974 by Claude Aguttes, the Aguttes auction house is now made up of a team of 60 passionate individuals, which remains its greatest strength. Over the years, it has risen to become a leading player in the art market. Still independent and family-run, with three children actively involved, it is dedicated to the mission of transmission. With its auction room located in western Paris and representative offices in the regions, as well as in Brussels and Geneva, Aguttes stands out for its personalized service and responsiveness. Its 17 departments, led by in-house experts and specialists, enable the appraisal and sale of major collections, paintings, jewelry, automobiles, and exceptional works of art. Thanks to its strong promotional reach and culture of performance, the auction house strives for excellence and regularly achieves world records. Fully aware of the trust placed in it by its sellers, Aguttes remains, above all, committed to serving them.
In 2008, Claude Aguttes purchased the main building of the Brotteaux station, a listed historical monument. This opened up the business activity of the house to the East of France.
