Linked to the Furniture and Decorative Arts department, the Silverware & Tableware department is now a distinct specialty at Aguttes. Auctions dedicated to this specialty feature many high-quality pieces of silverware from all periods and styles in the history of French and European silversmithing.  

French and European Silverware.

18th-century goblets, cutlery sets, candlesticks, and wine tasters, wine coolers, and many other treasures crafted from solid silver, silver-plated metal, or vermeil, as well as silverware made of gold and other precious metals. Silverware can be found in tableware and decorative objects.   

Cabinets of Curiosities: Precious Objects and Collections.  

First appearing in Europe during the Renaissance, the cabinet of curiosities was a place where collected objects were amassed and displayed, with a particular taste for the eclectic and the unusual. Recreating this world, our sales titled “Le Cabinet d’Amateur” feature a fine selection of numismatic items, silverware, and curiosities. Not to mention Ottoman or Russian pieces such as Fabergé.
