FABIENNE VERDIER, AN ARTIST SOUGHT AFTER BY OUR COLLECTORS
Two artworks by Fabienne Verdier, titled 'Tectonique', each fetched 130,000 euros. These paintings bear witness to the artist's universe, blending modernity and tradition.
Our auction house closely follows this artist. On April 6, 2023, the auction house set a world record for Fabienne Verdier with the artwork Cercle – Ascèse, soaring to 362,970€.

ANDRÉ MARFAING, A STEEPLY RISING MARKET VALUE
While André Marfaing's market value has experienced exponential growth in recent years, the auctions once again rewarded the artist with Abstraction fetching 88,400 euros. This large-scale acrylic offers an immersion into the artist's artistic universe and distinguishes itself with the rare presence of an ocher-colored background, an unusual choice in the painter's palette.

WANG KEPING, THE CONTEMPORARY ASIAN SCENE IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Our auction also celebrated the contemporary Asian scene. Among about thirty works from this continent showcased, the sculpture Buste by Wang Keping fetched 45,500 euros. Settled in France since 1984, this contemporary Chinese sculptor favors wood carving. He draws inspiration from Taoist philosophy, ancient Han dynasty statuary, and Chinese folk art. As demonstrated by Buste, the artist reveals the essential forms of his subjects through the veins, knots, and fissures of the wood.

Another great result was for Robert Combas (born in 1957) and an acrylic on canvas titled DANS LA VERDURE AVEC MONTAGNE, JOUONS DU CLAIRON AVEC TROMPETTE À CHEVAL SUR MON COPAIN EDMOND LE RANDONNEUR MONTEUR DE CHEMINS ! Bidders applauded as this acrylic fetched 54,600 euros.
While the artist Ben had described Combas's universe as Figuration libre, Combas has unfolded throughout his career a protean body of work that defies categorization.
