À partir des années 1950, Nguyễn Phan Chánh et son entourage reprennent plusieurs sujets de jeunesse du Maître pour de nouvelles versions, en particulier certaines réalisées sous le contrôle du musée des beaux-arts du Vietnam. C’est le cas de cette marchande, dont la représentation conserve les caractéristiques recherchées : un sujet traditionnel, des tonalités douces et une parfaite maîtrise du support de la soie.
Un papier rouge est accroché sur le mur derrière la jeune femme, sur lequel il est écrit « Grand bonheur » en caractères chinois. Ce type de petits papiers, annonçant des voeux tels celui-ci, apparait chaque année à l’occasion de la fête du Tết (Tết Nguyên Đán), fin d’une année lunaire et donc fête du Nouvel An au Vietnam.
Le musée des beaux-arts de Hanoï conserve la version datée de 1957 et reproduite dans le volume Tranh Lụa, Nguyễn Phan Chánh, Bảo tàng Mỹ thuật Việt Nam, Hanoï, 1992.
Kể từ những năm 1950, Nguyễn Phan Chánh và những người đồng môn đã tái hiện lại nhiều đề tài được ông sáng tác khi còn trẻ với các phiên bản mới hơn, đặc biệt là một số tác phẩm được thực hiện dưới sự giám sát của Bảo tàng Mỹ thuật Việt Nam. Điều này cũng được thể hiện thông qua bức tranh về người gánh hàng rong, tác phẩm giữ nguyên các đặc trưng vốn có: đề tài truyền thống, tông màu nhẹ nhàng và kỹ thuật hoàn hảo trên chất liệu lụa.
Trên bức tường phía sau cô gái có treo một mảnh giấy đỏ, trên đó viết dòng chữ Hán "Đại Hạnh" (Đại phúc). Tranh thư pháp trên nền giấy đỏ thường xuất hiện mỗi dịp Tết Nguyên Đán, đánh dấu sự kết thúc của một năm theo âm lịch và chào đón năm mới tại Việt Nam.
Bảo tàng Mỹ thuật Hà Nội hiện đang lưu giữ phiên bản được sáng tác vào năm 1957, được thể hiện lại trong cuốn Tranh Lụa, Nguyễn Phan Chánh, Bảo tàng Mỹ thuật Việt Nam, Hanoï, 1992.
From the 1950s onwards, Nguyễn Phan Chánh and his entourage took up several of the Master's early subjects for new versions, in particular some produced under the supervision of the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts. Such is the case with this merchant, whose representation retains the sought-after characteristics: a traditional subject, soft tones and perfect mastery of the silk support.
A red paper hangs on the wall behind the young woman, on which is written “Great Happiness” in Chinese characters. This type of small paper, announcing greetings such as this, appears every year on the occasion of the Tết festival (Tết Nguyên Đán), the end of a lunar year and therefore New Year's festival in Vietnam.
