Remplaçante de la 328, la Ferrari 348 fut la première production
de Maranello à la suite du décès du Commendatore en 1988 :
présentée au salon de Francfort en 1989, elle perpétue la tradition
des berlinettes 2-places à moteur V8 | sa désignation provient de
sa cylindrée, de 3.4 l, et de sa motorisation 8-cylindres, tandis
que ses lignes acérées dessinées par Pininfarina s'inspirent de
la Testarossa, mythe absolu des années 1980.
La 348 sera déclinée en trois versions: TB (berlinette), TS (targa)
et Spider (cabriolet) avant de connaître en 1993 ses premières
et ultimes modifications pour désormais porter les appellations
GTB et GTS | ces versions sont les plus abouties et donc les
plus désirées notamment grâce à la puissance du moteur V8
portée à 320 ch, à la modification des suspensions arrière ou
au poids de la voiture allégé de 25 kg.
Visuellement elle se distingue par ses bas de caisse couleur
carrosserie, son monogramme GTB et le cheval cabré chromé
sur les grilles avant et arrière, alors qu’à l’intérieur, le volant et
les panneaux de porte sont spécifiques et le pédalier se pare
d’aluminium | seulement 222 exemplaires de la GTB seront
fabriqués, ce qui en fait assurément un modèle à collectionner
sans tarder. >
Notre exemplaire français a été vendu par le garage Pozzi à
Levallois en 1996, il s’agirait d’une deuxième main d’après son
rapport histovec : son actuel propriétaire en fait l’acquisition en
1999 auprès du concessionnaire Blacy automobiles, alors que
son compteur affichait 15 700 km | affichant aujourd’hui un peu
plus de 29 000 km, cette 348 GTB se présente dans un très bel
état de conservation. Sa carrosserie Giallo Ferrari est très bien
préservée et son habitacle en cuir est tout juste patiné : seuls
les plastiques de l’habitacle nécessiteraient un peu d’attention.
De nombreux travaux ont été réalisés récemment dont le
remplacement de la courroie de distribution, de la pompe à
eau, de l’embrayage ou encore de la pompe à essence | elle
est accompagnée de son carnet d’entretien, de ses notices
d’utilisation ainsi que de sa trousse à outils. Ce bel exemplaire
à la configuration séduisante constitue une opportunité
à ne pas rater !
Replacing the 328, the Ferrari 348 was Maranello's first production
model following the death of the Commendatore in 1988.
Presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1989, it continued the
tradition of V8-powered two-seater saloons| its name derives from
its capacity of 3.4 litres and its 8-cylinder engine, while its sharp
lines designed by Pininfarina were inspired by the Testarossa,
the absolute myth of the 1980s.
The 348 was produced in three versions: TB (saloon), TS (targa)
and Spider (cabriolet), before undergoing its first and final
modifications in 1993, to be known as the GTB and GTS. These
versions were the most accomplished and therefore the most
sought-after, thanks in particular to the power of the V8 engine,
which was increased to 320 bhp, the modification of the rear
suspension and the weight of the car, which was reduced by 25 kg.
The car's distinctive visual features included body-coloured
rocker panels, the GTB monogram and the chrome prancing
horse on the front and rear grilles, while the interior featured a
special steering wheel and door panels and an aluminium pedal
unit. Only 222 examples of the GTB were ever built, making it
a collector's item.>
Our French example was sold by the Pozzi garage in Levallois
in 1996, and is believed to be second-hand according to its
histovec report: its current owner acquired it in 1999 from the
Blacy automobiles dealership, when its odometer read 15,700
km| now clocking up just over 29,000 km, this 348 GTB is in a
very fine state of preservation. The Giallo Ferrari bodywork is very
well preserved, and the leather interior has just acquired a slight
patina, with only the plastics in the cabin needing a little attention.
A great deal of work has been carried out recently, including
replacement of the timing belt, water pump, clutch and fuel pump.
The car is accompanied by its service booklet, user manuals
and tool kit. This handsome, attractively configured example is
an opportunity not to be missed!
