« Le premier Ferrari tout-terrain ? »
“The first off-road Ferrari?”
«FERrari VEicoli Speciali», en quelque sorte le premier 4x4
portant le nom de Ferrari (Carlo, aucun lien !)… Oui, vous avez
bien lu, le véhicule qui illustre ces pages est bien un Ferves,
une automobile créée par Carlo Ferrari, un Italien ayant décidé
de modifier les Fiat 500 en véhicule adapté aux terrains les
plus délicats.
Présenté au Salon de Turin 1966, la Ranger 4x4 n’aura finalement
pas un succès retentissant, et aujourd’hui, seul une cinquantaine
d’exemplaires sont recensés.
Tout-terrain rare sur le marché, idéal pour toutes les tâches : à
l’aise en centre-ville, dans les Alpes, au bord de mer, ou en forêt !
Aujourd’hui, son état cosmétique est impeccable, grâce à une
restauration assez récente : sa sellerie et sa capote sont en skaï,
et sa peinture (de bonne qualité) est très bien conservée. Sa
mécanique, elle aussi en bel état, est dérivée de la Fiat 500 :
facile d’utilisation et d’entretien !

FERrari VEicoli Speciali’, the first 4x4 to bear the Ferrari name
(Carlo, no relation!)... Yes, you read that right, the vehicle illustrating
these pages is a Ferves, a car created by Carlo Ferrari, an Italian
who decided to modify the Fiat 500 into a vehicle suited to the
most difficult terrain.
Presented at the 1966 Turin Motor Show, the Ranger 4x4 was
not a resounding success, and today only around fifty examples
are known to exist.
A rare off-roader on the market, ideal for all tasks: at ease in town
centres, in the Alps, by the seaside or in the forest!
Today, its cosmetic condition is impeccable, thanks to a fairly
recent restoration: the upholstery and soft top are in skai, and the
paintwork (good quality) is very well preserved. The powertrain,
also in fine condition, is derived from the Fiat 500: easy to use
and maintain!
A chic, exclusive alternative to the eternal Land Rover or Citroën
Mehari...
