A SUCCESS FOR THE 27TH SALE DEDICATED TO THE ASIAN PAINTERS
The sale on the 30th of November, totalled nearly 1.1 million euros
Aguttes opened this Monday the Asian week in Paris with its 27th sale dedicated to the Asian Painters. 24 hand-picked works were presented, mostly from private collections built up more than 40 years ago. This sale totalled 1.07 million euros.

“This sale closes a very good year for the Asian Painters at Aguttes, leader on the European market. With a total figure of more than 8 million euros achieved in 2020, the buyers showed us their blind confidence by buying without coming. I am honoured by their loyalty and the respect they have shown for the quality of my expertise”, said Charlotte Reynier-Aguttes at the end of the sale.
Artist Mai Trung Thu was in the spotlight with Le Sommeil, a high-quality composition which, as announced, attracted the interest of discerning collectors. This exceptional work, which gives the timeless subject the allure of a dreamy Orient, was sold for 258,800 euros after a long battle between the active bidders on the phone and live.

In a much more classical register, Vu Cao Dam was able to captivate the bidders with two remarkable compositions. Mother and Child, a youthful work of remarkable finesse, was sold for 145,600 euros, while Galloping Horses, a very rare theme for the artist, won the important prize of 182,000 euros.

Finally, Sanyu seduced Chinese buyers with the work Étude de nue féminin, which sold for 52,000 euros.
