Retrospective
Classic Cars
A look back at the first half of the year and ahead to the second!
The pace picked up right from the start of the year for Aguttes on Wheels, with exceptional sales, several records broken and a strong presence at the biggest events of the year...
The tone was set in February with our high-profile participation in the Salon Rétromobile, where we exhibited a carefully curated selection, heralding an ambitious season.
On 16 March, the Spring Sale unveiled several highlights: the legendary Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Series 2, former safety car at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans, sold for over €200,000, while the Passion Citroën collection, comprising 40 rare models, demonstrated a unique passion for the chevron brand. A few days later, on 20 March, the ‘Citroën and Enamel Icons’ sale, dedicated to advertising objects and enamel signs, achieved a superb ‘white gloves’ result with over €500,000 in sales. This result was the fruit of perfectly mastered communication and our desire to pay tribute to those who had assembled the collection.
In April, the Official Tour Auto Sale confirmed the appeal of exceptional models with spectacular results, to say the least: Ferrari 308 Gr.B ‘Michelotto’, Peugeot 205 Turbo 16, Ferrari 458 Speciale and legendary items such as the helmets of Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna. This year marks the highest result ever achieved since the beginning of our partnership with Peter Auto in 2021.
At the end of June, the Summer Sale brought together French and international collectors around an eclectic selection. Youngtimers shone, with a BMW Z8 selling for €322,260, a manual Ferrari F430 Spider for €256,700, and excellent results for classics such as the Jaguar E-Type V12, Mercedes 280 SL Pagoda and Citroën DS 19 Cabriolet.
As if that weren't enough, at the same time, an Online Only sale of more than 200 collector motorcycles, assembled by a passionate enthusiast, was held from 25 June to 9 July, tracing 70 years of two-wheeled history through models from all the major manufacturers. Here again, the sale was a success, doubling its estimate with 97% of lots sold.
Finally, at the beginning of July, the Aguttes on Wheels team was at the start of the Le Mans Classic at the wheel of a 1936 Delahaye 135 S. It was a wonderful human and sporting adventure, shared with our customers and collector friends.
More than ever, this first half of the year illustrates our commitment and our values: defending quality, promoting history and always cultivating passion.
Thank you to our sellers, buyers, partners and visitors for their trust.
