‘St Michael’ black leather jacket
A black leather jacket with a zip fastening, stand-up collar, vertical pockets and a slim fit; it is lined and structured to flatter a slender figure. Inside, it bears a ‘St Michael’ label, size 36, corresponding to Michael Jackson’s build at the turn of the 1990s.
The item is presented as coming directly from Frank Cascio, author of *My Friend Michael*, who states in his letter of provenance that it is a leather jacket “with a ‘Michael’ label” that belonged to the artist, was worn by him, and was subsequently passed on as part of their close relationship.
This type of garment forms part of a transitional wardrobe, bridging the gap between stage aesthetics and everyday wear, where leather becomes a discreet extension of Michael Jackson’s public image without being part of any specific performance outfit.
