A Michael Jackson rhinestone cushion from the Jackson family’s private storage facility in Oxnard, California.
Certificate issued in connection with “The Bankruptcy Auction of Jackson Family Memorabilia” (10–19 September 2014): Henry V. Vaccaro states therein that he obtained, by court order, the contents of the Jackson family’s private storage facility located in Oxnard, California, described as “the Jackson family personal storage facility” and said to contain the largest collection of personal items related to Michael Jackson.
The cushion in question is listed as “Michael Jackson personally owned custom-made Bill Whitten crystal pillow”, part of the “Jackson Family Personal Collection” held in this storage facility.
In the absence of conclusive evidence regarding its location or specific use, it is not possible at this stage to determine whether this rhinestone pillow was used on a daily basis or served merely as an ornament. It should be viewed more broadly as a textile accessory from his domestic sphere, reflecting how the glittering aesthetic of his stage costumes extended into his private environment.
