An automotive legend that has left its mark on BMW’s history.

Billed as the ultimate evolution of the famous 02 series, the BMW 2002 Tii epitomises the sporty and elegant spirit of the Bavarian brand in the 1970s. Fitted with the famous 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine with Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection producing 130 horsepower, the 2002 Tii immediately stands out for its lively character, lightness and remarkable balance, which would make it one of the most iconic sports saloons of its era.

A true benchmark among small European GTs, it already embodied what would build BMW’s reputation over the following decades: genuine driving pleasure combined with a versatility rare for its time. With its manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive and precise handling, the 2002 Tii still offers today the pure, mechanical thrills that have become highly sought-after by discerning enthusiasts.

Our 1974 example has a particularly endearing history, as it is a genuine first-hand car until 2021, bought new in the Gers by a civil servant from the Department of Public Works who looked after it carefully for many years.

This rare provenance lends this BMW a unique and authentic character, evident in its overall condition; its consistency and period patina bear witness to a car that has been preserved with care and respect. A fresh coat of paint has restored its beautiful lustre, true to the spirit of German motoring from that era, when robustness and mechanical simplicity went hand in hand.

It is therefore with great pleasure that we present this BMW 2002 Tii, a true automotive icon of the seventies and an essential piece for any lover of classic sports saloons. A model equally capable of cruising along country lanes as it is of reminding you, with every rev of the engine, why the motto ‘the joy of driving’ finds its full meaning here.
