A French classic reimagined as an electric car, beautifully and tastefully restored.

Launched in 1946, the VéloSolex stood out for its small engine positioned above the front wheel, which drove the wheel via a pulley. Economical, easy to use and accessible to all, the Solex enjoyed immense popularity, becoming a symbol of mobility. Over eight million units were produced before manufacturing ceased in the late 1980s.

The Solex 3800 is one of the most iconic models in the range. Marketed from the late 1960s onwards, it is fitted with a 49cc two-stroke engine. Prised for its mechanical simplicity, low fuel consumption and robustness, it could reach a speed of around 25 km/h.

Fully restored and retrofitted by Millésime Drive, this Solex is as good as new. Fitted with a 440 W electric motor and a 672 Wh battery, it offers a range of up to 30 km. Capable of reaching a top speed of 30 km/h, it takes 4 hours to fully recharge. It is road-legal and comes with a valid registration document.

It retains all the charm of its original design thanks to a subtle modification. The electric motor is integrated into the combustion engine, and its power is transmitted via a pulley to the front wheel, just as in the original. The battery, housed on the luggage rack, is removable so that it can be recharged from a mains socket.

Today, the Solex remains a true icon of French industrial heritage and continues to appeal to collectors and enthusiasts. Usually priced at €3,600 excluding options, this magnificent example, complete with its panniers and BP Solexine fuel can, represents a superb opportunity!
