« Very good overall condition, numerous recent work done»
Innovative and elegant, the Lancia Appia was produced in three different body styles between 1953 and 1963. At the 1959 Geneva Motor Show, the third series was distinguished by its unique rectangular grille, a hallmark of Lancias built under the stewardship of the company’s new owner, Carlo Pesanti.
The Series 3 offered a remarkable balance between comfort and performance thanks to a more powerful engine (48 hp) with a new cylinder head, electric starter, reinforced clutch, 14-inch wheels instead of 15-inch ones, etc., making it the fastest in its class at 135 km/h. It also featured an innovative dual-circuit braking system.
Our example was sold new in Milan. It was in Lot-et-Garonne that the previous owner, a major Lancia collector, acquired it in the late 1990s. In fine original condition, it was nevertheless fully restored, taking care to preserve everything that could be saved. It joined the collection of the current owner, himself a keen Lancia enthusiast, in 2024.
He carried out a significant amount of work on our Appia, including a complete overhaul of the front suspension and braking system, a rebuild of the carburettor, and a general service.
Here is a superb alternative to its – far more traditional – rivals, in excellent working order and condition, and at a very reasonable price!
