1961 – Triumph TR3A

French registration title 

A faithful replica of Johnny Hallyday’s TR3A, with over €25,000 worth of work carried out since 2022.

The Triumph TR3A epitomises the golden age of British roadsters. Produced between 1957 and 1962, it enjoyed incredible success in both Britain and the United States. It captivates with its timeless style, distinctive grille and simple lines that perfectly reflect the sporting spirit of the 1950s.

Powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, it offers a lively and authentic driving experience. Its modest weight, robust mechanics and dynamic handling provide a pure driving experience, particularly appreciated by classic car enthusiasts.

The history of our example dates back to 1988, the year it was acquired by its previous owner. Kept by him until 2016, it then passed to its current owner. As such, it has not left the Haute-Garonne region for nearly forty years.

Between 2016 and 2017, a major mechanical overhaul was carried out at a cost of over €4,000. The car has been driven very little since then. It then underwent a major cosmetic restoration between 2022 and 2024 at the Artole body shop. Over €25,000 was invested in this project.

A fan of Johnny Hallyday, the owner wanted to create an exact replica of the TR3A with registration number 15 LJ 75 that the singer had received as a gift for his 18th birthday.  The bodywork was therefore restored and then given a new cream paint finish. Long-range headlights were fitted into the grille. The interior, meanwhile, has been fitted with new blue leather upholstery with white piping, as well as matching carpets. Preserved in very good condition, this fine example will delight fans of British roadsters. It should be noted that there is an administrative error regarding the second letter of the chassis number on the registration document (B instead of S).
