Excessive elegance, sculptural lines and a majestic V8: the American motoring dream of the early 1960s.

In the aftermath of the Second World War, Cadillac introduced two major innovations: tail fins and the high-compression V8 engine. From that point on, the brand cemented its position at the top of the luxury market by setting the stylistic trends of the era.

The Coupé de Ville represents one of the most refined expressions of American luxury. Its low, sleek silhouette retains the stylistic attributes that made the brand famous.

The 1961 model is characterised by its windscreen, which is no longer panoramic but features double-curved pillars, as well as the ‘skegs’—those spoilers located at the bottom of the bodywork that run horizontally from the front wheel arch to the rear bumper.

Our example, a 1962 model year, was assembled at the Janesville plant in Wisconsin during the fifth week of August 1961, in Ebony Black with a grey fabric and leather interior.

Perhaps the most important detail is that it was sold new in France and is in its original condition, with just under 79,000 km on the clock. Calling all enthusiasts!
