- A simple yet sturdy French classic with a superb patina.

Launched in the early 1950s, the Citroën 2CV AZ succeeded the Type A, which had been introduced in 1948. Offering improved performance thanks to its 425 cc engine, it retained all the qualities that had made the model so successful: exemplary mechanical simplicity, low running costs and a remarkable ability to handle all types of road.

A true symbol of French automotive heritage, the 2CV captivates with its authentic charm and ingenuity. Its uncluttered interior, legendary suspension comfort and resolutely practical design offer a unique driving experience, steeped in nostalgia.

Owned by a certain Moïse Delroise in Barlin, Pas-de-Calais, this 2CV likely never left the department until its current owner purchased it in 2015.

Our example is in its original condition and boasts a superb patina. It is fitted with a removable long soft top, which is very pleasant in summer. There are signs of corrosion on the bodywork and underbody, but the overall condition is fairly satisfactory. Inside, the upholstery and door panels are original, and period imitation leather covers are also included.

The mechanics are in working order and the car is roadworthy; it should be noted that the battery was replaced prior to sale. As it has been driven very little since 2015, a service will be required. With its unique patina and attractive valuation, this characterful 2CV has plenty to offer collectors seeking authenticity.
