Ducson is a Barcelona-based brand founded by Vicente Solá in the 1950s. After manufacturing bicycles and a large quantity of spare parts for motorcycles, Ducson shifted its focus to creating its own motorised vehicles in 1958. Its first model fitted with a Ducson engine was the Repris, considered the best sports moped of its time.

The Caballero – ‘gentleman’ in Spanish – is a name that says a great deal about Ducson’s commercial ambition for this machine. In a category dominated by strictly utilitarian designs, the Caballero boasts a character and distinction aimed at a clientele as concerned with their image as with their mobility. A refined design, a presentation above the average, and a finish that reflects the care of a company attentive to detail – all elements that justify the chosen name.

1955 was one of Ducson’s very first years of production; the company had only been in existence for a few years, and every machine produced bore the mark of an undiminished founding passion. Examples of this inaugural generation are now extremely rare, as the Barcelona-based production of the 1950s never received the attention from collectors that it deserved, and time has caused almost all machines from that era to disappear.
