Torrot is a Valencian brand founded in the 1960s, which quickly established itself as a major player in the Spanish moped and light motorcycle market. In a country where urban mobility relies heavily on small-engined two-wheelers, Torrot has developed a varied range of affordable, reliable machines well suited to the everyday needs of a young, mainstream customer base. The brand produces both urban mopeds and off-road machines, demonstrating a remarkable ability to adapt for a relatively small industry.

The Super City is Torrot’s urban offering; its name says it all. Designed for the city, lightweight, manoeuvrable and economical, it epitomises everyday mobility in Spain in the late 1970s. A pivotal era, that of the Democratic Transition, when the country was opening up and modernising at breakneck speed, and when the moped remained the vehicle of freedom for an entire generation.

1978 was one of the last prosperous years for small Spanish two-wheeler manufacturers, before Japanese competition and market changes gradually undermined these artisanal firms. A Super City from that year is now a rare testament to a limited production run and a bygone era.
