Ducson is a Barcelona-based brand founded by Vicente Solá in the 1950s. After manufacturing bicycles and a large quantity of spare parts for motorcycles, Ducson ceased these activities to focus on creating its own motorised vehicles in 1958. Its first model fitted with a Ducson engine was the Repris, considered the best sports moped of its time.

The S.16 represents the most advanced evolution of the cradle and fishbone frame introduced in 1962; seven years of continuous refinement through competition have produced a design in which every detail is justified by experience on the racetrack. Lightweight, rigid and precise, together with the 49cc two-stroke engine and its Dell’Orto carburettor, it forms a unit of remarkable mechanical coherence – the very same mechanics that the Solá brothers supplied to riders without ever needing to adjust the carburetion, such was its perfection.

1969 was one of Ducson’s last great years in competition; the company was about to face a period of turbulence that would gradually undermine its operations. The S.16 Replica Race was built in this final burst of energy, drawing on all the expertise and passion of a team that knew every machine produced carried the company’s name onto the racetracks. A mechanical swan song of rare elegance.

This motorcycle features an S.16 frame and engine, but some parts are not original to it; this configuration is closer to that of a racing bike, with a fibreglass fuel tank, as well as fibreglass shock absorbers, seat and handlebars.
