The Saturno was born in 1940, but it was in the following decade that it came into its own. Built around a 500cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine with overhead camshaft, it represents the very best of road machinery that Gilera, founded in Arcore in 1909 by Giuseppe Gilera, had to offer. A simple, robust design with proven reliability, enhanced by lines of timeless elegance that have made the machine’s reputation far beyond Italy’s borders.

The Sport version is the most desirable model in the Saturno range. The model on display brings together the machine’s most characteristic and appealing features: the large red fuel tank adorned with the Gilera emblem, the exposed aluminium cylinder head—a visual and technical hallmark of an era when engineering was proudly on display— the inclined single-cylinder engine, the spring-loaded single-seat saddle, and the wraparound mudguards, whose generous curves complete a silhouette of absolute coherence, not to mention the upgraded fork for improved stability.

A rare find, a machine whose mere presence is enough to stop conversations in their tracks.
