Ducson is a Barcelona-based brand founded by Vicente Solá in the 1950s. After manufacturing bicycles and a large quantity of spare parts for motorcycles, Ducson ceased these activities to focus on creating its own motor vehicles in 1958. Its first model fitted with a Ducson engine was the Repris, considered the best sports moped of its time.
The name Repris, a French term perfectly understood in 1960s Spain, evoking torque, flexibility and a smooth acceleration, was a deliberate and revealing choice. It refers to a machine whose primary quality is mechanical responsiveness—the ability to respond promptly to the rider’s input in urban situations where one starts, stops and starts again. A clever selling point for an era when Spanish cities were beginning to become more densely populated and smooth handling was becoming a key criterion in choice.
The Repris stands out from the Turismo with a slightly more assertive character, refined mechanics, a slightly more polished finish, and a positioning within the Ducson range that places it a notch above the strictly utilitarian. Its 49cc two-stroke engine, still the result of the collaboration with Setter d’Elche, is in this configuration a lively and reliable proposition, well suited to intensive daily use on the streets and secondary roads of Spain during the nascent economic miracle.
