The Falcone is the direct heir to a lineage dating back to the very origins of Moto Guzzi. Launched in 1950 as a successor to the Astore and the GT, it continues the tradition of the large 500cc horizontal single-cylinder engine – the brand’s iconic, instantly recognisable design – whose origins date back to Carlo Guzzi’s early models in the 1920s. A horizontal engine, with the cylinder pointing forwards, air-cooled, whose sound and mechanical character were unique in the European motorcycling landscape of the time.

The Sport version is the most desirable in the Falcone range. With a larger carburettor, higher compression and meticulous finish, it embodies the quintessence of Guzzi’s expertise applied to the road, halfway between a grand touring bike and a competition machine. A rare offering for its time, aimed at a discerning clientele who would not compromise on riding pleasure.

1958 was one of the last great years for the Falcone in its original form. Moto Guzzi was going through a difficult period at the time; the brand would bring its racing programme to an end that very year, after decades of glory in Grand Prix racing. The Falcone Sport from this vintage carries within it something of that twilight era: a machine built with all the expertise accumulated over the years, by a manufacturer that knew the world was changing.

Rare, elegant, steeped in a history that goes far beyond the realm of mere mechanics. A piece for connoisseurs who know how to read between the lines.
