Gimson, founded in Valencia by the Giménez family, established itself in the 1960s as one of the most reputable regional manufacturers in Spain’s Levante region. In a Spain buzzing with sporting excitement, where moped speed trials were bringing regional circuits to life with boundless passion, Gimson took the bold step of offering a Customer Competition version – a machine custom-built for racing, delivered directly to the rider ready to line up on the starting grid.

What immediately strikes the eye is the machine’s absolute purity. The open double-cradle chrome tubular frame, stripped of everything that isn’t strictly necessary; the flat single-seat saddle with a raised tail; the elongated, low burgundy-red fuel tank adorned with its original Gimson badge; the large wheels with fine spokes and no front mudguard – every detail bears witness to a single intention: to go fast, without compromise. No lights, no indicators, no mirrors; this machine was never designed for the road. It was born for the racetrack.

Its 49cc two-stroke engine, with a visible Del Orto carburettor and chain drive, housed within this strikingly elegant bare frame, forms a whole of absolute mechanical and stylistic coherence. The matching numbers – chassis 94597 and engine 94597KK – confirm the authenticity and originality of a machine whose engine and frame have never been separated.

*Please note that we are unable to guarantee the model and authenticity of this Gimson. It appears to be a very limited production run or a possible assembly and rebuild inspired by the racing bikes of the 1960s and 1970s.
