Ducson is a Barcelona-based brand founded by Vicente Solá in the 1950s. After manufacturing bicycles and a large quantity of spare parts for motorcycles, Ducson ceased these activities to focus on creating its own motorised vehicles in 1958. Its first model fitted with a Ducson engine was the Repris, considered the finest sports moped of its era.
The ‘3V’ designation, meaning three speeds, is the detail that sets this Repris apart from its contemporaries and alone justifies the collector’s interest. In a Spanish moped market where the vast majority of machines make do with an automatic transmission or a two-speed gearbox, the presence of a three-speed gearbox demonstrates genuine technical ambition and a desire to offer a more engaging, more precise machine that rewards the rider who puts their heart into riding it. A choice that places the Repris 3V clearly above the level of a mere utility vehicle.
Ducson knows what it’s talking about when it comes to transmissions; the Mollet del Vallès-based company has developed mechanical expertise forged through competition, and the lessons learnt on the racetrack are naturally reflected in its most ambitious production models. The Repris 3V is the direct result of this heritage, a road bike that benefits from the know-how of a manufacturer accustomed to building to win.
Its 49cc two-stroke engine, developed in collaboration with Setter d’Elche, offers in this three-speed configuration a more complete and satisfying driving experience, capable of fully exploiting the small engine’s potential depending on the situation and terrain.
1963 was a pivotal year for Ducson; the company had just updated its chassis with the S generation, and the Repris 3V benefited from this wave of renewal.
