The 150cc single-cylinder two-stroke engine is a simple and robust piece of machinery, built with the care of a manufacturer whose technical standards were beginning to take shape through its early experiences in competition. Lightweight, economical and easy to maintain – the key qualities of a Spanish road bike from the 1950s – yet already bearing the hallmarks of an engineering culture that would assert itself strongly in the following decade.
1959 was a particularly significant year in OSSA’s production history; the company was still far removed from the sporting revolution that would transform its identity, and every machine from this era bears the mark of an undiminished founding passion – that of a team building with conviction, without yet knowing how far they would go.
