Ducson is a Barcelona-based brand founded by Vicente Solá in the 1950s. After manufacturing bicycles and a large quantity of spare parts for motorcycles, Ducson shifted its focus to creating its own motorised vehicles in 1958. Its first model fitted with a Ducson engine was the Repris, considered the best sports moped of its time.

The name ‘Turismo’ is indicative of the machine’s positioning within the Ducson range. Situated between the strictly utilitarian entry-level models and the sports versions beginning to emerge in a booming Spanish market, the Turismo occupies the sensible middle ground – the choice one makes when seeking comfort without excess, and reliability without mediocrity. Its 50cc engine, developed in collaboration with Setter, was by this stage a well-known and well-mastered piece of engineering, whose robustness and fuel efficiency had been confirmed by years of intensive use.

1960 was a fine year for Ducson; Spain was in the early years of its economic miracle, demand for mopeds was strong, and the Barcelona-based company was in its prime.
