This 2017 Kawasaki KX 250 is no ordinary machine. Behind its iconic green livery lies a mechanical secret that makes it a unique specimen: a Kawasaki KX 250 frame paired with a 125cc KTM engine – an unlikely combination born of the demands of competition and the pragmatism of the people involved. A prototype, in the truest sense of the word.

This machine was Oriol Oliver’s official ride for the 2017 season. Custom-built to meet the rider’s specific needs, it bears witness to the behind-the-scenes work carried out far from the spotlight, that of the mechanics and teams who do not hesitate to challenge conventions to gain tenths of a second.

The combination of the two brands is no coincidence. The Kawasaki chassis, renowned for its rigidity and precision, is paired here with KTM’s engine, whose two-stroke single-cylinder is recognised as one of the absolute benchmarks in the category. This model has been prepared for competition; two versions were produced, one for training and the other for racing. A certificate from Kawasaki Spain attests to this.
