The MK6 arrives at a time when the Pursang has reached undeniable technical maturity. Six generations of continuous development have forged a machine with no apparent weaknesses, a chassis with perfectly mastered geometry, suspension systems that meet the demands of a rapidly evolving discipline, and a 250cc single-cylinder two-stroke engine that ranks among the absolute benchmarks in its category at the start of the decade.
1972 was a banner year for Bultaco in sporting terms. The brand was then locked in fierce competition with the best European manufacturers and was beginning to feel the growing pressure from Japanese machines, a rivalry which, far from discouraging the engineers at Sant Adrià de Besòs, spurred them on to give their very best. The MK6 was the direct result of this competitive drive.
Stylistically, it follows in the footsteps of the MK5 whilst refining every detail, a visual and mechanical coherence that makes it one of the most appealing Pursang models to look at and ride.
Original 1972 models are now extremely rare. A must-have for any serious collector of vintage Spanish motocross bikes.
