The Mk 4 version marked the end of a cycle in the Pursang series. Its engine was far more sophisticated than that of previous models. It was fitted with dual ignition for better responsiveness under acceleration, and its bodywork, whilst retaining the general lines of earlier versions, was overall much more streamlined. The graphics, featuring a combination of red and silver that would endure for several years, were also a first.

Bultaco had taken the time to listen to its riders, analyse its competition results, and translate these insights into concrete improvements. The chassis gained in precision, the suspension in responsiveness, and the 250cc two-stroke engine in reliability, without the machine losing the sharp character that has defined the Pursang since its inception.

1969 was a year of intense competition in international motocross. The competition was heating up, the Japanese were now a serious presence, and every European manufacturer had to prove its worth on the grid. The MK4 rose to this challenge with conviction: a competitive machine, built with care, which continued to fly the flag for Barcelona on circuits around the world.

This vintage model holds a special place in the hearts of collectors.
