Easily recognisable thanks to its small size, the Chappy enjoyed a long career lasting nearly 25 years and was offered in several versions. Its single cylinder two-stroke engine was available in 50cc and 72cc variants and could be had with one of three transmissions: a 2-speed automatic, 3-speed semi-automatic or 4-speed manual.
The version that concerns us here is the 1F1 type equipped with a preselector gearbox. A lever is used to select the gear by hand, choosing between a long and a short ratio. The ‘Limited Edition’ model we are presenting here was completely refurbished a few years ago and is now in very good overall condition. Initially white, the seat was replaced this year by a new black one. Registered with French papers, this Chappy is ready to go back into service!
