STANDING CHEST

with rectangular side handles in oak, featuring moulded and carved decoration on each side in the form of cartouches, and the edges adorned with friezes of laurel leaves. The hinged lid reveals an interior with a side compartment and ornate hinges; it is topped by a moulded cornice enclosing a compartment bearing the date 1740 on the inside.
